The TS 55 Plunge Cut Track Saw, when combined with the FS 1400 55” Guide Rail, is Festool’s most advanced plunge cut track saw ever. And they are both available at Quality Hardware. This light-weight saw is perfect for cross cutting or rip sawing heavy sheet stock, making it possible to bring the saw to the sheet instead of the sheet to the saw. And of course it is compatible with Festool dust extractors and comes in an interlocking systainer.
FS 1400 55″ Guide Rail
The TS 55 is designed to be used with the FS 1400 55” Festool guide rail. With the guide rail in place, you can achieve laser-straight, professional precision cuts, even on a bevel. The bevel guide allows for angles from -1 to 47 degrees. And the flat housing allows you to make cuts within ½ inch from walls or adjacent surfaces. The guide rail can also be combined with any number of guide rails to achieve whatever length cut you need.
Precision Plunge Cutting
With a plunge depths up to 2-1/8” and limit-stops installed on the guide rail you can make precise cuts in the middle of a board. And the micro-adjustable plunge depth allows you to expose only as much of the blade as absolutely necessary to make the cut, increasing safety, and reducing kerf cutting of sawhorses and work surfaces.
Splinter-free Cutting with the Splinterguard
With the splinterguard installed, you can make splinter-free cuts on both sides of the blade, saving material and reducing finish sanding. And it is slim enough to use when making bevel cuts, or when working against adjacent surfaces.
Riving Knife Safety Against Kickback
The spring-loaded riving knife rides behind the blade and keeps the kerf open. This reduces the chance for the wood to bind on the blade, causing kickback of the wood.
