Saratoga Quality Hardware was established in August of 1976, when William Eddy SR., and three of his sons Bill, Rod and Gene Eddy purchased Claire’s Hardware on East Avenue in Saratoga Springs. The business quickly grew and within five years they had outgrown this location and needed to expand. They moved to 110 Excelsior Avenue, and renovated the existing building on that property. Five years later Quality Hardware had outgrown their location again. By 1986 they had completed construction on the current building and relocated the business there.
Over the years Quality Hardware expanded into other locations. Around 1980 Quality Hardware purchased a small store in the Kingsbury Plaza in Hudson Falls, NY. Within a few years they out grew this location and built a new store on Rt. 4 in Hudson Falls. This location is thriving in the Hudson Falls area and nearly tripled its size in 2006 with the addition of a large drive-thru lumberyard.
The business has stayed in the Eddy family. In February 2010 Louise Eddy formed SQH, inc. and purchased the assets of Saratoga Quality Hardware and Burgoyne Quality Hardware and Lumber. Making her the third generation of Eddy’s to own and operate Quality Hardware.
We are proud to be a locally owned business with a long and deeply rooted history in Saratoga and Hudson Falls. Quality Hardware is and has always been very community oriented, donating several thousand dollars annually to local charities and events. We are proud to sponsor many youth sports teams including Hudson Falls Girls Softball, Hudson Falls Little League, Saratoga Streaks Running, and Saratoga American Little League.
At Quality Hardware we strive to provide excellent customer service. We offer a hometown atmosphere where our customers can find name brand, quality, products at competitive prices. Our staff is knowledgeable and always happy to help and our store is just big enough to have almost anything one may need, but small enough that you don’t have to walk a mile to find it.
