Benjamin Moore’s Stix Primer

Benjamin Moore‘s Stix Primer is a revolutionary new primer made by Insl-X and available at Quality Hardware. A few years ago, Benjamin Moore bought Insl-X. And it wouldn’t surprise me if it was specifically for this product. So, what makes Stix such a gamechanger?

Incredible Adhesion

Stix Primer adheres to just about anything, even hard, glossy surfaces. So now you can paint things that you never thought you could paint before. You can paint plastics, tile, galvanized metal, glazed block, polished stone, and even glass. Where you used to have to sand or use a deglosser, now you can just prime with Stix. I’ve painted PVC and glass before. And, sure, it looked good immediately after I painted it. But with both these surfaces, I could scrap the paint off with my fingernail. But not anymore. With Stix, the paint stays put, even on glass

Benjamin Moore’s Stix Primer has Acrylic Urethane Resin

The resin in Benjamin Moore‘s Stix Primer is Acrylic Urethane, which is a hard resin. It will protect the substrate and stand up to scrubbing. Also, because it is so hard, it has excellent enamel holdout. Enamel holdout is a measurement of how well a primer supports a glossy topcoat. The better the enamel holdout, the glossier the topcoat can be. Another feature of the Acrylic Urethane resin is excellent leveling properties. It dries a little more slowly and smooths out to a uniform thickness, eliminating brush marks. So if you are going for a smooth, high-gloss finish, Benjamin Moore’s Stix Primer is the one for you.

Cures at Low Temperatures

Because it cures at temperatures as low as 35 degrees Fahrenheit, you can use it on exteriors late in the season. Or you can get an early start in the Spring. Either way, Benjamin Moore‘s Stix Primer can give you the freedom to do your exterior painting when other primers can’t.

A Primer Like No Other

Stix Primer adheres to almost any material, creates a hard, smooth surface which is ideal for high-gloss paints, and can be applied at temperatures as low as 35 degrees Fahrenheit. Come to Quality Hardware and try it and you will agree it is a primer like no other.
