Once the daytime temperatures are above freezing and while the nighttime temperatures are still below freezing, I tap the one tree in my front yard. I have been getting a little more than two liters of sap every day from this one tree. I collect the sap in empty two-liter plastic soda bottles, and every Saturday, I boil it down to syrup. Each year I get about a gallon of syrup, which is plenty for my own use.
Your lawn's needs change throughout the year, and one of the most critical times for your lawn is the Autumn, as it gathers nutrients for dormancy in the winter. So the way you take care of your lawn in the Autumn should be a little different from Spring and Summer. Grass grows the most in Spring and Autumn, but the real action in the Autumn is beneath the surface. Root growth is greatest in the fall as your lawn gathers and stores nutrients to last through the Winter. Here are a few things to keep in mind when caring for your lawn in the fall.
The tools of the Skil PWRCore 20 system are all powered by the same interchangeable Lithium-ion battery. There are a variety of tools available in the PWRCore 20 system, including drill drivers, impact drivers, hammer drills, circular saws, reciprocating saws, multi-tools, vacuums, and lights.
Here are some of the benefits of the PWRCore 20 system:
Interchangeable batteries: You can use the same battery with any of the PWRCore 20 tools, so you don't need to buy a separate battery for each tool.
Lithium-ion batteries: Lithium-ion batteries are lighter than nickel-cadmium batteries and they hold a charge longer.
Brushless motors: Brushless motors are more efficient than brushed motors, which means they provide more power and runtime.
PWRASSIST™ Mobile Charging: The batteries have a USB port that you can use to charge your phon...
Nowadays buying a particular power tool isn't an isolated decision. The industry is going more and more cordless every year. And while batteries have yet to deliver the kind of power the corded versions of these tools have, it is hard to go back to being tethered to an outlet once you have started enjoying the freedom of cordless.
Advance is designed to be a one-coat paint. If you have to wait so long for the paint to dry, you don't want to have to do two coats. So it goes on thick and hides well. Benjamin Moore doesn't guarantee it will cover in one coat, but unless you are covering a very light color with a vary dark color, or vice-versa, you are covered (pun intended). The Breakthrough, however, is less likely to cover in one coat. The film is just not as thick as with Advance. The upside is it dries so fast that you can do another coat in the time it would take the Advance first coat to dry, and still have time for a beer.
Consider all these factors when planning your next build, and make an informed decision about what type of insulation is right for your particular project. Fiberglass, RockWool, Nu-Wool, and extruded polystyrene foam all have their advantages and disadvantages.

The coldest part of the winter is here, and to stay productive every jobsite needs a dependable heater. Quality Hardware & Lumber has the propane and kerosene heaters you need to keep your workers on the job in the most brutal cold.
So there you have it. The Festool drill/driver is more powerful and versatile, but at a hefty price difference. I was more impressed with the Porter Cable and how it compared to the DeWalt in all aspects. I didn't really notice a difference in power between these two.
Okay. I spent a couple of hours checking labels and scouring the internet in search of the facts about what ice melters work best, what ones are safe for concrete, and what ones are safe for pets. There is a lot of confusion and a lot of deliberately misleading advertising out there. So I will tell you what I have found out in the short time I devoted to it, and what my personal experience has been.
Shellac is still made from the secretion of the Lac bug. It is available in many shades from clear or “blonde” to dark brown, although the most common colors are clear, amber, and orange. Synthetic shellac is now commercially available. It is used to create a high gloss finish. Like lacquer, it doesn’t soak in to a porous surface. It is not as durable as lacquer, or polyurethane. It isn’t water proof, and it can be damaged by heat. But, although it is subject to water and heat damage, it is easy to repair. It can be stripped by using denatured alcohol, and then recoated. It is non-toxic, so it can be used for children’s toys. It is also use in the pharmaceutical industry to coat tablets....
